PC worked fine yesterday - enabled Norton firewall just a
couple times for unknown site to make cd covers for first
time through Easy CD 5. On regular boot up, locks up, task
manager does not work.I've restored system back different
days - nothing.Norton antivirus will not enable nor scan.
I've tried all the latest scan tools from Symantec site.
I've tried using XP cd for recovery - asks for
administrator password I don't have? I had only one user
with adminstrator rights. Norton 2002 ghost won't
recognize drive ghost cds are in. I've tried everything
but reload XP. I must have picked up virus or worm but
cannot figure. I have been at this entire day to no avail.

HELP
To access system as administrator, just hit enter,
there probably isn't a password.

Logon in safemode and if necessary take a copy of taskmgr.exe
from c:\windows\system and *copy* it to a temporary folder.
Then rename it to tempname.exe.

Boot normal mode and use the renamed copy to access
the task manager. Does sound like you have a virus.

Do you have all the updates in IE6?
