I've (more or less) successfully installed XP on an old Toshiba 320
CDS laptop (with 96 MB RAM) - mostly for experimentation purposes. :)
It's working quite well compared to the previous Windows 98
installation except that I'm still looking for these two drivers:

-its original video adapter: Chips & Tech 65555
-its PCMCIA modem+NIC card: Xircom CEM56-100

I only have Windows 9x (or NT4) version of these drivers, which do not
work on Windows XP. Is there any way to get XP versions of these (or
other equal) drivers? Google web search hasn't helped me much.

If doing a web search does not find you any XP version drivers then
you are out of luck. Manufacturers tend to "drop" driver support
after a couple of years or they "disappear" completely.
