I use a laptop. Back on Monday to work, i learnt that the
server hard drive has crashed.

we use windows 2003 on the server and XP Pro on my laptop,
and have enabled the synchronizations features of Windows,
with my documents "available offline" and synchronized at
each log out.

The problem: i turned on my laptop, look into my
documents.... to see only the folders, empty folders, not
a single file. So i have lost several gigs, more than 2
years of work. What is this? If we had not used this
feature, i would have kept all my data. Can anyone help
me? Had the same problem?????

Did the offline files ever work correctly?

I hope the network admins have been doing nightly backups to tape, whatnot.

OT, but I hate offline files & have had tons of problems with it. I prefer a
third party app (cheap and cheerful) called SecondCopy from
www.centered.com - use it all the time w/no problems.
