I have 2 (mostly) identical computers, AMD 1GHz, 30Gb HD,
50xCD. I purchased 2 full XP Home installations, and 1
went perfectly. The second gets the NTLDR not found error
and I read Nicholas' info to boot from CD, tried the
Microsoft KB sys c: to get the HD heads right and am now
trying to boot from the floppies. I get to disk 5 and get
error 4108 (ntfs.sys caused unexpected error 4108 at line
5010 in c:......). This is a new hard drive, no system
ever on it and a new never installed XP home full.
Thoughts?
Thanks.

Updated information - since the computers were (mostly)
identical, I started swapping components between them to
see if any other component happend to be the culprit. Lo
and behold, I swapped the CD and the recalcitrant computer
behaved and is installing XP home. The disks are useless,
but the Cd is now useful.
