I installed a second hard drive and installed XP but NT
always boots first from the original drive. The only way
XP will boot is when the original drive is disconnected.
How can I get both drives working but with XP as the OS?

Boot your computer with the XP CDROM and do a Repair Install of XP as
per the instructions at
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Note: It is possible that booting from the CD and using the Repair
(Recovery Console) option might fix the problem and that would be
quicker.

When the Recovery Console has finished loading and the system stops at
the Command Prompt enter the following command:

FIXBOOT

Good luck

Try here. Doug Knox has directions for installing 2000 after XP is
installed. Might work for NT4 also

If NT was already installed. Xp should have allowed to setup a dual boot.
