Xp not seeing CD-RW drive

So I just put a Hitachi-LG GCE-8481b CD-RW drive in my
computer (replacing an old one), and Windows refuses to
see it. Everything is exactly the same on the back of the
drive as the old one, and it is getting power but Winows
just can't see it...

Any suggestions?
 
a Hitachi LG?....Hmmm. I have the LG gce 8481b and it installed with not a
hiccup, and right on top of it, in the next bay, is an 8520b which also
installed easily and without a hitch; can't imagine what is wrong with
yours(?) You will get them working and when you do, you will love 'em....BTW
