Hi,

I'm using XP Home edition and am trying to install it again
to aleviate a probelm of not being able to open programs
even though they are on the computer.....it says it can't
find so & so .exe.

During the installation, it 'cannot find' certain
programs..I don't know what programs or why it's having
problems installing.

I ran a virus program(Norton) and it did not find any
viruses or threats....so i don;t know what's going
on...I've tried to install 3 times but the same thing happens.

I was thinking of initializing the hard drive but i don't
know how to do that....is it difficult? I know that XP can
do that but don't know the steps.

Any help on these problems would be great!

thank you

Steve

Steve, you can try formatting your hard drive with the WinXP CD. Choose
new install >Advanced. Select that you want
to choose the partition it installs in. When it gives you that option it
will also ask if you want to format. choose yes.
Make sure you have backed up any important files before proceeding.

Steve, this isn't likely to resolve the issue. Usually to resolve this type
of issue you need to reinstall the affected application or remove it and
reinstall it.
