I've installed Norton 2003 (For XP) on my computer. I've used Norton
Utilities since there was a Norton Utilities and not since I had a old
IBM operating at 8mgz has S.D. run slower. It also takes forever to
shut down. Is this XP, or Norton? Is there a fix? Or is just the
nature of the beast with XP?

If you been using utilities since there was one, and this is your first SD
problem you're fortunate. Norton's hosed one of my pc's before, and other's
as well. Norton is not compatible with all hard disk controllers. Don't
know if that's an issue with your problem, but you can check their website
for more info.
