I have a new XP Pro installation, with 2 network cards.
One card goes to a DSL modem, the other to a hub which
has another PC also connected. I have problems where the
XP Network setup wizard fails and won't allow me to
create a network setup disk, and I therefore can't set up
the other PC and so can't share files PC or a printer on
the network. The other PC also can't find the Internet. I
have reinstalled a couple of times and found the fault is
reproducible.
Are there any known fixes for this. Seems like a
Microsoft bug.

I have a similar problem Running a network of 2
computers (both with XP). Upgraded the ICS with XP Pro.
Now, the networked computer cannot access the Internet,
though the network appears ok.

I have the same set up but everything works. here's what I
have, I have my XP pro machine with two nics one gets the
internet directly from the cable modem, the other is
attached to a hub, but not the uplink port of the hub.
secondly Internet connection sharing is enabled on the
direct internet connection and I renamed both cards in
connection settings to be network and internet, to make it
easier, from there share the appropriate one and then run
the wizard choosing internet when it asks which connection
accesses the internet. then you should be fine. make sure
both comps are using NTFS on their disks.

Scott.

Hello, again.

The network and Internet sharing worked normally when
both computers ran XP Home. However, when I upgraded the
ICS Host to XP Pro, the ICS Client can no longer access
the Internet.

The network is fine. I can ping back and forth
normally. The only problem now is that the client cannot
browse the Internet.

Thx!
