I have a linksys router and two XP machines. I can ping
between both computers users names or IP addresses and
computer A can access computer B via My Network or \\B.
However B can not access A. There must be a security or
permissions setting somewhere. ICF is off, and I have
turned off simple file sharing and allowed the EVERYONE
user to have full access. I did just add a new NTFS boot
drive to computer A. Thanks

I have run into the same problem when I networked using
XP and linksys.....I turned off the firewall on the host
and the additional machine and I was able to share files
between the computers.....

What I am trying to do now is find a way that I can go
into the firewall settings and open a port that will
allow the network communication between the two computers
so if you find out a solution that will let you have the
firewall active and the network communicate please let me
know.

You gave me the right hint. I'm using Zone Alarm for a
firewall and computer A had somehow gotten reset out of
the trusted zone into the internet zone (both at Medium
setting). When I set back to trusted, it worked
flawlessly. Thought I had already checked that. Don't
know which firewall your using, but that solved my
problem. Thanks so much for the idea.
