I have a win2k server set up as a domian controller. the
domain is called dzone.local. I used to be able to access
it fine from my other 2 XP machines unitl I had a hard
drive crash and removed one of the XP machines from the
domain and maade it part of a work group called Dzone. Now
that the server is back up I would like to rejoin the
domain but can't I get a message that "the reource is no
longer available" I can see, ping etc the server no
problem. Aslo from the server I can access any share on
the XP box, I cannot, however, acccess any share on the
server from the XP station. I have tried renaming, giving
it a different IP cleaning up the directory service
account info all to no avail.
One strange point. On the XP box I have noticed that what
ever I rename my computer to system still reports the
computer name as the original name.dzone.local as if it
were still part of the the doamin although it definitely
says it is in a workgroup and when using the computer
browser it shows up in a workgroup.
Help!!!!!
