I have 2 xp pro compters on a peer to peer network. My applcation resides in program files, the database directory is off the
main drice c; as too are the two other directories that are used.
I have:
1)diabled simple file sharing
2) diabled the firewalls
3) shared all the folders with full rights and max users and full permissions
4) set the security level for everyone to have full rights on all folders

The 'client ' compuer can see all the dir's on the 'server' but when the applcation is started via the network it fails, it cannot access the database directory.

Please advise

Do I understand correctly that the application is installed on the
server computer, and you're trying to run the application from the
client computer over the network?

If so, it probably isn't possible. Unless an application is
specifically written for networked access, it must be installed on a
computer to run on that computer. The installation process creates
necessary DLL files and registry entries. The program can't run
without them, and it can't get them from the other computer.

If your application is written for networked access, I'd contact the
manufacturer for technical support.
