I'm trying to share files from my new HP Media Center PC (Win XP Media Ed) wireless through my Linksys router with my downstairs Win2K machines, but the Network Setup Wizard file that XP created won't run on Win2K. What now

Thanks

Hi Kim
This paste from Steve Winograd should help
"You can make the network settings manually on 2000. Configure the
TCP/IP properties to obtain an IP address automatically, and set the
workgroup name to MSHOME (assuming this is the workgroup name)."

Thanks, yellowpike,

One other question, I was reading the xp troubleshooter and it said my xp machine had to be the host computer. If that's the case, I have some re-networking to do, since my current host machine is Win2K.

If you're using Internet Connection Sharing, either machine can be the
host.

What exactly did you see that said that XP has to be the host? That
sounds wrong to me.
