I have a network of six XP computers, they are all identical, in that the
hardware is all the same, on one machine I installed XP, pu ton the latest
SP, got all the drivers set and working, I then cloned the drive 5 times,
and went through and put in the correct serial numbers for the 6 copies of
WinXP. After that step, I turned on 'simple file sharing' and shared the
'c' drive (it's a closed special purpose network, and that seemed to be the
most expedient way to do it.)
All the machines can 'see' each other, and can read and write to the shared
drives, and all of them can do the same with my laptop (also XP, latest SP).
However, my laptop can not 'see' one of the machines, even after I open a
shared directory from my laptop and read and write files from that machine.
There's no hardware problem (I think), it's just the one connection, in only
one direction that is a problem.
Any help???
