We have a machine running XP Pro on the network with a
Windows 2000 server. The person using the XP client
sometimes will lose access to the server. Sometimes it
will just be the server other times it could be the whole
network.
For example the user could use a file stored on the
server, close it, and then when trying to access it again
10 minutes later clicking on Network Places would
eventually produce a prompt for a username and password to
access the server. The server can only be accessed again
by rebooting.
I have disabled all power saving as I know this powers
down the network card but it still happens.
Hope someone can help.
Many thanks,
Jason
