XP Music folder opens slowly

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this. I have an XP SP 2
machine with 2 users - 1 limited and 1 admin. The limited user Music
folder has 1200 mp3s in it. This folder takes at least 1 minute to
open and there's lots of disc activity during this time. If I log in
to the admin account and open the limited user Music folder it opens
in under 1 second. Anyone know what's going on ?

When using the Limited User account any access to any files on
your harddrive have to go thru "Permissions" which takes time.
When the Admin account is used, permissions is not utilized,
thus the difference in access time.

Well I thought I'd post a conclusion to this to allow others to
benefit. In amongst the 1200 mp3s, I found an mpeg. Just one, 6MB in
size. I copied this mpeg to a different folder and the Music folder
now opens within 2 secs. Haven't a clue why this would make a
difference. Maybe some special feature / attribute of the "My Music"
folder ??
