Hi,
I'm connected via a linksys router and a cable modem to internet.

In XP Multimedia Edition I went to "Ctrl Panel->Network connections"

If i right click my "Local Area Connection" (or any connection listed there
in fact) and pick properties or select "Local Area Connection" and click on
"Change Settings of This connection" there is no advanced tab there

I'm trying to enable/disable/configure ICF and this is the instructions to
use from MS. I am logged in as Administrator.
How do i get at those settings?

I'm trying to get RD going from my XP machine at work (outgoing) to my
computer at home. I can connect OK to my XP at home via another computer on
my local lan but cant connect from work using my WAN ip. I have port 3389
on my linksys forwarded to my the static IP of my home XP machine. The
machine at work is also an XP Pro machine and can connect to other pc's at
work just fine.

Also, if work has a firewall (SOCKS 5) does that affect this? If so how to
config RD to connect through the socks server at work (outgoing) to my XP
at home?

Thanks
Eric

I'm not sure if you can get to this in Media Center Edition or not, but one thing that I have had users do before to disbale ICF is go to Start, Run, and type in

services.ms

This should bring up the Services list on the PC, and you can disable the Internet Connection Sharing/Internet Connection Firewall service in there. We have had users who were unable to access the Advanced tab because of policies in effect on their systems, and this method has allowed them to disable ICF. Hope that helps...........
