XP MCE Keyboard not working (Model:1044)

I bought the XP MCE Keyboard from ebay. When hook it up to my XP MCE 2005,
those keys similar to the remote control are all working fine. However the
mouse pointer and keyboard is not response at all although the Keyboard light
and IR receiver does blink. Am i missing something?

Did you install the software?

Just check the URL and i believe I haven't install this patch yet. The latest
MS patch was installed is Rollup 2 for MCE2005. i am trying to download and
install it now. Hope it solve the issue. Thanks.
 
Cool! with the update rollup 2 for IR receiver, my problem is solved. I can
completely remove my USB mouse and keyboard. Thanks a lot Jason.

What type os "safe" purchase did the eBay vendor specify during the
sale? I am weary to purchase from eBay since the must be a reason,
sometimes, for selling "used" equipment. I suspect that the keyboard
was originally defective therefore the reason it was being sold.
