Help:
I have installed Windows XP on my computer housing Windows
ME as the OS. When complete, all my files disappear. When
remeoving XP and going back to ME the files reappear.
Where are they when XP becomes the OS and how do I
retrieve them. I am not great with DOS but need the files.
Thanks for any help.

You have to put the files to share between each OS on a separate partition
(FAT/FAT32).

What files disappear? Personal files or the ones for ME or some other
files? If upgrading ME to XP, it is normal for the WinME files to
disappear.

They have NOT disappeared but MOVED. Look in C:\Documents and Settings
folder. In Me they would have been in C:\Windows\Documents.

Right click My Documents and change the target directory to the new
location.

Shouldn't Windows XP have moved his files to the new documents and settings
(I'm pretty sure it did with mine).
