When I installed windows n my HP notebook Windows made a custom pagefile
that is 1440 min aand 2880 max. I have 1 gig of ram on the system.

Shuld I leave the pagefile as custom r let widows manage it? I have heard
pros and cons of both. I want the best performance so please give me
a recommendation, thank you.

This may help: "How to Configure Paging Files for Optimization and
Recovery in Windows XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314482).

With so much ram you should disable the page executive as intel suggest
Go to run,type:regedit,in regedit,expand:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\then open MemoryManager
Youll find abreviated,DisablePagingExecutive L.click on it,go to edit,Modify
Set to 1 from 0 To increase the NT Executive to Ram instead of page file
Then close-out regedit, restart computer. To verify its actions, look at task mg
performance before and after you adjust. This tweak is good for 512mb of ra
and above.
