We recently upgraded some of our computers from Win 98 SE
to Windows XP Pro. At the same time we implemented
Windows Small Business Server 2003 as our DHCP server and
Internet connection. 2 of the upgraded systems seemed to
work well for several weeks but have now developed a
problem. These systems will drop their network connection
without warning, You can open the network connections and
disable then re-enable the connection and everything
works fine again for some time. You cannot use the repair
option and get the same results. Any suggestions on cause
and method of correction. Thanks.

I have had to return computers to Windows 2000 OS because we have not had a response that works. We first had the problem over a year ago. I now use XP on my home computers, networked to Windows 2000 servers, but have had to "put up" with having to re-boot the computers every day when I come home. Seems there should be a "check list" of things you need to do to insure a continued connection. I have tried all the solutions proffered so far on this and other boards, have emailed Microsoft, and continue to try to find a solution that for the moment is the only issue in an otherwise exceptional operating system.
