I have also posted this request for help in Proformance &
Maintenance.
I am running a NT 4 domain and setting up a test to go to
w2k and AD. I took one of my BDC's and upgraded it to w2k
and installed AD. I have three test machine two xp pro
and one w2k pro.
The two xp pro machines are taking 90 to 120 second to
logon to the network. The w2k pro machine is taking 12
second to logon to the network.
I put one of the xp machines back on the NT 4 domain and
it took 15 seconds to logon to the network.
How can i fix this issue?

Try disabling the web client service on the XP clients. Also make sure
that the XP clients are pointing to the AD/DNS server for the domain for
DNS. Check the hotfix in KBB article 328570 Existing Computers Are Not
Updated to the DNS-Style Domain Name After
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=328570
