I am a non technical user only. I had problems booting up
and tried to overcome by inserting original XP CD in the
hope system could find missing/corrupt file. I
inadvertantly started a new set-up of XP but cancelled by
refusing to accept the Terms at start. Now when my PC
boots up it shows 2 Windows XP boot versions and the
default one brings me back to the screen to complete XP
installation (I can get into my primary version by
interrupting the boot up and selecting the second
version). I tried help to 'delete a partition' but could
not find a second partition. Anyone any ideas how I can
remove this from my boot up ?

Hi

See if the following helps:

"I have two installations of XP on the same partition, how do I remove the
one I don't need?"
