I am currently using Window's XP-Home in Italian, but want
to install Window's XP in English...

When i install XP in english, can someone please tell me
if I can still use my keyboard which is laid out in
Italian?

thanks

Yes but you'll have to tell XP that it's an italian keyboard. This just ensures the labels on the keys are correct. All keyboards are the same differing only in what is printed on the key.

On the other hand you don't have to. If you know an english layout you can install a english driver and ignore what is printed on the keys.

There are three main english keyboard layouts.

UK (and other english speaking countries that use a pound)
US (For Australia and other english speaking countries that use a dollar such as America and NZ)
US International (keyboard works wierd to make inserting non english characters easy)

You europeans are a dirty lot (I know it's not that close - I'm just looking for any excuse to post this link).

No. You need an English keyboard.

That's not true. I'm typing this on an english keyboard set up as italian. See I'll now press shift and 3
£
It is not that different if you stay away from puntuation keys.

Not true by a long shot. WinXP "in english" means that all the
OS dialogue is in the english language. Hook up a chinese, pink,
purple or Italian keyboard if you want, and use Russian software
to write german documents if you know how.

All he needs to do is specify which keyboard he is using in the
control panel | Regional and Language options.

Cheers
