XP keeps trying to reinstall an already installed printer

I am configuring a new PC. Everything has done smoothly to
this point with exception of the Epson Stylus 860 printer
install. I have successfully installed the printer and can
print documents successfully. The printer monitor software
functions correctly as well. Upon rebooting or logging off
and back onto the PC however, XP keeps finding the printer
and attempting to reinstall it. I've attempted to remove
and re-install the printer, tried different drivers, and
looked over the configuration settings etc in an attempt
to resolve the problem, but nothing has worked so far.
I've looked for resolutions on the internet also, but
havn't located any decent leads.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
 
Thanks for the reply. I'm currently testing some of the
suggestions. I have attempted to scan Epson's site as
well, but have not located any similar suggestions
specific to Epson with XP.
