I have just cleaned an old machine ready to be given out to a new person, but
the window to log on to the domain keeps coming up. I can still get tthrough
to it, but the new person is not going to wnt this to come up everytime they
log on. Is there a way i can stop it?

Thanks

Right click my computer | computer name and click "network id". Select "This
computer is for home use and not part of a business network". Then click
"Change" and make sure the "Workgroup" part is selected. Call it something
like mshome it really doesn't matter. The computer was probably setup to log
into a domain before and now you just need to make it part of a workgroup
which is the non domain way.

If the computer belonged to someone else you probably should reformat and
reinstall Windows. Its generally the best way if you are selling a computer
on as it cleans out any personal files that you wouldn't want someone to see
and for the new owner they get a fresh install of Windows without any crap
that we all accumulate over time.

True, If you have the correct CD set or restore partition. So many used
computers do not, and a new windows CD would need to be purchased.
