my pc freezes up on the screensaver, whereas, it takes
several attempts of trying to get the screensaver off to
use pc. Finally, after hitting ctrl-alt-del and then some,
it will be in a useable state. I also got this message
about windows recovering from a serious error message. my
pc also seems to run slower than normal. i have run
scandisk, checked for viruses, defragged, and the system
recovery will not let me recover either. I tried 5
different dates..help!

personally I think a clean installation of the XP
operating system would be your best route.

back-up all your files and docs you wish to keep onto cd's
or on a seconday hard-drive.

restart pc. enter bios options during boot typically by
pressing f2 or del. go to boot order and ensure that it is
set to read cd-rom 1st.

insert xp installation disk and restart again. when
prompted, run xp setup.

choose to delete contents of C:\ drive partition
choose to create new partition
choose to install XP on C:\
hangout for 30min to an hour and you're done

a squeeky clean XP! no bugs no faults no errors no viruses

Please quote the post you are replying to - owing to the very vague subject
line, no-one knows to whom you are talking and about what.
