I have heard WinXP has a built-in firewall. How do I find
out if it is activated? How do I activate it if it is
not? Thanks.

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: FIREWALL , and hit enter.

It does - in researching the Blaster worm, I've seen the
instructions for enabling the XP firewall - can't recall
the routine verbatim, but if you go to the Windows Update
site, the lead screen tells about resolving Blaster
troubles - it includes the answer to your question... hope
it helps.

To enable/disable the built-in firewall, Start > Network
Connections > Right-click the connection > Properties > Advanced >
