I have a P4 1.7gh 256mb RAM 40gb Hdd cd-rom and cd-rw
drives. I can read from both cd drives perfectly but when
I try to burn to the cd-rw I cant. When I place a blank
cd-r or cd-rw in the cd-rw drive and try to open the
drive as to drag and drop files to burn i get "windows
explorer invalid function" I tried using another cd-rw on
the same ide and the hdd ide and same error. What would
or could cause this and how to I fix it? Please copy your
response to (e-mail address removed) for I do not
check these forums as much as I should. Thanks

I am having the same problem. Please be more specific, Yves, as to 'the
upper and lower filters for the ...drive'. What do you mean? What
about the upper and lower filters? What value/info should they contain?
Please inform the newsgroup of what to do in this case, as this seems to
be a quite prevalent problem amongst XP users lately.
