I recently bought a new motherboard for my custom built computer. I am
trying to clean install windows xp.

Whenever I boot, it goes through the first half of the installation.
Then it says it will reboot and continue the installation. Whenever it
reboots, it never continues the installation.

I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware problem...I've troubleshooted with
everything in my case. As far as I know I'm doing everything
correctly, but still can't get it right. The cd is fine, i have 2 of
them. I tired to install on both of my hard drives. My CD drives are
both detected and work. Motherboard is not messed up like i thought
the first time. What should i Do?

Please describe exactly what "it never continues the installation"
means. What happens? Please include the text of any error messages.

When it reboots, make sure it reboots from the
hard drive, not the CDROM.

2 questions..........custom build computer.....by DELL /HP or indepedant??
2 XP CD's...............both the same? what
versions....or OEM??
XP usually only comes on one
CD.............???
If you have a custom build by one of the large comp Manufact. like DELL
chances are those 2 CD are "recovery" version that only work on their
machines.Or OEM version tied to the mobo that is longer there.
let us know
