Hello! After we had a power outage (and I'm assuming some kind of voltage
spike, although I do have a surge protector), my new computer refuses to boot
up. I get an error message that the SYSTEM file is either missing or
corrupted, and that I should run a repair with the XP installation CD. When
I try this, the repair program doe not "see" the windows installation on my
main SATA drive. It does see an old windows installation on one of the old
IDE drives that I transferred from my old computer, but not from the new SATA
drive. I have the SATA drive set up as main, with two old IDE drives set up
as a master and slave on the first IDE channel.
So without reformatting the SATA drive, how can I get around this problem?
Thanks!
