Trying to upgrade a Win98 SE computer to WinXP Home. After the upgrade
program copies the files from the CD the computer is restarted and shows the
XP splash screen. I soon get an error message that the upgrade can not copy
the file “ftdisk.sysâ€. I can retry to copy again but end up with the same
results. Canceled the upgrade but let the computer restart to the upgrade. I
then get the message that setup can’t copy the file “dmload.sysâ€.
Had to cancel again and get the same message but for file “bootvid.dllâ€.
The upgrade compatibility report does not show any issues with any hardware
on the system.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick J.
