Please help. I can no longer access the data on my Hard
Drive after a failed XP home installation. I can view the
data directories with the XP install Repair console but it
doesn't allow me to copy directories out of there. Another
installation of XP on the same disk was not possible
without reformatting/repartitioning the disk. I MUST have
some of that data.

Anyone else had a problem like this. I have tried hackman
to get to the files but it doesn't recognize it. Disk
management sees the disk but it has no volume name and I
can't access. It says it is a healthy active volume.

Any help would be appreciated. please contact me via
email. (e-mail address removed)

Try removing the hard drive and placing it in another computer or install
another hard drive in this computer and install Windows on that drive.

This IS an Access newsgroup....
But put the disk in another pc running W2K or XP and 'import' it through the
Disk Manager of that machine. That's how I salvaged mine.
