We have professional XP (version 5.1) been running it on PC for a year and
more.
Somehow the system date was set back to 1999, XP produced
"active task manager: you have x days to register" messages when started PC.

Ignored these messages, now start PC get **** Professional XP.... initial
screen, then screen goes blank,
and nothing happens.
Can only start in safe mode.

The system restore points, seem to have disappeared, only go back to
yesterday, which is no good.

Has the date , and ignoring messages, caused XP to assume it is not
registered / activated ?

Is there anyway to get XP going again, without re-installing o/s from
scratch ?

Many Thanks

Darren
