Can ANYONE assist me on the following problem please?

Windows XP Pro
When trying to run Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer
within a user account which does NOT have administrator
status I get the following message; Particular message is
for IE 6.

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\explorer.exe

This Application has requested the Runtime to terminate
it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications
support tema for further information."

The said apps were running fine till a recent update. I
am not sure what update caused it because I did a number
of updates and only discovered the problem when one of
the kids couldn't get into IE.

This worked for someone in chat earlier tonight:

http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/ To download the free version
of AdAware.

Install, update, and run that.

Worked for them, may for you.

Consider disabled installations on kids accounts as well for added security.

I was having the same issue. Installed and ran Adaware software. Can
anyone explain what it was that it cleaned off? In another thread,
they mentioned a "parasite". Is this different then a virus? I am
running Norton Antivirus.
