Mike

Thank you guys for your hints.
These are the current settings, i.e.

Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0

I tried pinging google continuously (with the Internet
NIC enabled and the LAN one disabled) and then enabled
the LAN NIC. It then started printing a message from the
gateway (192.168.1.1) that the destination is unreachable.
Any other clues?

Thanks, guys.

Your netmask does not match your IP address. For IP Address 192.168.x.x you
would need a netmask like 255.255.0.0. For a netmask of 255.255.255.0 you
would have an IP Address like 192.168.0.x

I think that 255.255.255.0 is fine, Curt. It's the conventional
subnet mask for all IP addresses in the 192.168.x.x range. It allows
creating different subnets, such as 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x, which
is necessary in some cases to use Internet Connection Sharing.

I yield to the master. Thanks.

Hi,

Can you ping the DNS server that your client is configured to use? Is the
router (default gateway) correctly configured? Can other clients that use
the same default gateway ping www.google.com?
