Hello, and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.
I've just (re)set up a network with a 98, an Me and an XP
box. The XP box has two NICs, one to the Internet and one
to our Linksys router. I am trying to enable ICS on the
Internet Connection for all computers on my LAN. However,
I can't get things to work at once, i.e. if I disable the
Internet and enable the LAN, the LAN works beautifully; if
I enable the Internet and disable the LAN, the Internet
Connecion works beautifully. When both are enabled
simultaneously XP just sits there like I'm stupid.
What is going on? Am I getting IP conflicts that are
hosing the whole operation? I know XP sets the LAN card
to a static 192.168.0.1 when ICS is installed; and the
router's default IP is 192.168.1.1. Is this the problem?
As I said, thanks to anyone in advance for their time and
help.
