Hi,

Go to the store (your choice, but preferably one that sells computer
software as it will make this task easier).

Purchase "WinXP Professional 'Upgrade' version".

Drive/walk/run/jog/ride a bike/take bus/train/trolley (again, the method of
transportation is your choice) home and boot the pc.

Insert the newly purchased disk.

Follow Upgrade prompts.

how would you go about upgrading XP Home -> XP Pro?

That's an easy upgrade. Just go buy the UPGRADE software, pop the CD
in the drive and follow the prompts.
