"No connection to the internet is currently available. To view Internet
content that has been saved on your computer, click Work Offline. Click Try
Again to attempt to connect". Work Offline or Try Again.

Clicking Try Again doesn't do anything.

Using dial up service. It doesn't attempt to dial up. There is no error
in the dial up service at all.

The pop occurs when the computer is idle before the screen saver comes on in
four minutes. Sometimes it pops up under the screen saver.

Why doesn't this pop up have properties?

Many people keep having this problem in XP, doing a search online.

Variety of things to try and fix. I thought adjustment in regedit ... Load
Sens and LoadLCE to "auto" would be it. I've tried the variety of fixes
people have discussed for YEARS.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Webcheck

Intriguing commentary on this site I found, does it happen with Explorer 7
deleted? Is that the goal of this pop up? I'll delete Explorer 7 to find
out.

I have deleted Explorer 7, a number of times recently combating Adware
infestation.

Deleting a few ADware programs, Winsok was damaged. I found a fix program
and returned Explorer to working properly again.

Pop up reappears.

I have Firefox browser. Updated Java.

I use Outlook Express for email. I do have Hotmail coming through it.

But the tricky thing is, on a second computer with XP SP2 as well, none of
this is occuring. It's connected to the internet just as often. Using OE
and Hotmail through it.

I've got program settings to work the same way on both computers.

I don't think deleting Explorer 7 again will fix the Work Offline pop up
from happening.

I had a problem with Network Diagnostics popping up while connected to the
internet constantly, so I deleted the program. No more Network Diagnostics
errors. Deleted listings in the registry.

Please don't list ADware cleaner programs because I've had ADware
infestation and they didn't act this way.

What's the purpose to the Work Offline pop up for Adware? ADware wants
connection to the internet.

This no properties Work Offline pop up is weird. What is causing the pop
up and from where?

In the registry? System32? Command directed to the Desktop.

The definitive fix could go a long way on the internet.

I also turned off Messenger in the Services area. Explorer 7 is not
checked marked WORK OFFLINE.

It's a very recent pop up problem. Can't say when but probably two weeks
ago when I noticed a few Adware virus. I thought this pop up was tied to
the Network Diagnostics program continually popping up when the computer was
online and having no problems.

Deleting Network Diagnostics didn't stop the Work Offline pop up.

I'm playing Call of Duty 2 on the computer and suddenly the pop up
interferes with the game. That's beyond irritating! Its become an intrusive
problem.

The pop up has no properties or reason it's occuring. This damn thing has
bedeviled many people. One XP machine isn't affected. The other is. I'm
glad they aren't networked like I've always wanted them to be.

I need the problem fixed!

Somewhere in the XP software a command is given to create that Work Offline
pop up on the desktop.

Outlook Express is not Work Offline, check marked.

Explorer 7 is not Work Offline, check marked.

Firefox is not Work Offline, checked marked.

The Work Offline or Try Again, pop up continues.

There is new twist happening on the sign in page before Windows XP opens. I
use a password.

There is a statement telling me about unread messages. I've never seen
that before. I've used XP for years now and suddenly this stuff is
occurring.

ADware isn't creating this foolish Work Offline pop up. What is?

What is the Windows code to generate that kind of message pop up so it
appears on the desktop? It has no properties is the weird thing. Clicking
Try Again doesn't do anything. The pop up doesn't try to dial the internet
service.

I've taken apart hardware on computers, replaced it. I'm pretty good at
finding anything on the computer when things go wrong. I can search the net
for answers, but this Work Offline pop up is strange. Many people keep
trying to find the fix. Computers with different net connections. Dial up,
DSL and cable connected have similar problems.

Encarta, Google Earth, the only other online needful program Icons on the
desktop. Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Word and Picture It, icons on the
desktop. Any of those causing this pop up error?

Programs for the Hewlett Packard printer used to be in the Start process.
That would ask to search for updates occasionally. I took it off Start and
now that program isn't asking for updates anymore. HP Director and HP
Document Viewer icons on the desktop.

What's the fix to stop the Work Offline pop up? Why did it happen in the
last couple of weeks. Why did Network Diagnostics keep popping up so often,
I had to delete the program? There was never any problem with the internet
connection.

I have another XP computer with SP2 and the same updates, using Outlook
Express and Firefox, Explorer 7 browsers. It doesn't have Network
Diagnostics program on it.

That computer is having no problems!

ADware is not causing the Work Offline pop up.
