I'm trying to share my DSL connection between my home PC
running XP and my corporate laptop running Win 2000. I've
installed an Ethernet card in my home PC and linked it
with the Ethernet connection in the laptop using a cross-
over cable. I followed the XP Wizard to set up a home
network. I've followed the instructions in the Win 2000
help text to set up a p2p network which comprised largely
of changing the Workgroup name in Control
Panel/System/Properties to match the name I used in the
XP wizard. The two PCs aren't talking to each other. What
more do I have to do ?

Many thanks.

Disable XP's Internet Connection Firewall on the local area network
connection. Enable Internet Connection Sharing on XP's DSL
connection. Configure Win 2000's TCP/IP properties to obtain an IP
address automatically.
