XP Home vs XP Pro

I have been using XP Pro on my laptop for the last two
years. Now I need to buy another laptop. It seems that
the all come with XP Home.
I generally have 2 or three database server engines
running on my laptop, (SQL Server, Sybase and/or Oracle
personal), which I use to develop database apps. The
machine occasionaly has to act as a
server on my home office network, (for testing
purposes.) My Questions:
-Can I get away with XP Home under these conditions?
-How easy is it to upgrade XP Home to XP Pro?
-Or... Should I insist on a laptop that comes with XP Pro
installed and checked out for the system?
Thanks, Joel
PS: reply by email would get to me a bit faster.

When you buy a laptop, use the web to order it from the
mfg'r with the OS and software YOU want, not what some store
buyer thought would sell.

All the companies have options to have Windows XP, Home or
Pro and you can also select whether you want MS OFFICE and
which version, or do you want Corel or some other package.

Don't just walk into a store and buy off the shelf, order
the computer the way you want it. Particularly with a
laptop, getting support is important and if you buy W XP
Home and upgrade it yourself to XP Pro the support people
will tell you they don't support that because you didn't buy
it from them.
