XP Home vs. Pro

So can someone possibly confirm my way of understanding? I have XP Home at home and XP Pro at work. I want to access my work computer from my home computer. I think that I read that this is possible. I think that I understood that if the situation was reveresed it would not be possible. Is that correct or am I horribly confused? Thank you!
 
Hi Swenson,

It is correct that Windows XP Pro is the only one of the two that is capable
of using the Remote Desktop feature for Windows. You do have some
alternatives depending on what you want to do. Remote Assistance, Net
Meeting, and 3rd Party Applications like PC
