I upgraded from Win98 to XP home and my laptop freezes constantly. I tried cleaning out the harddrive, uninstalling my antivirus, (McAfee), but it still freezes constantly. Any suggestions??
If you have AMD Duron and more than 256 MB RAM you can:
1> Remove XP SP1 OR
2> Disable AmdPower Now OR
3> Reduce the amount of memory
All form the above help in my case (Compaq Presario laptop)
