Recently bought a new laptop with XP home installed. I
upgraded it to XP pro in the store. Do I need to keep
the XP Home start up disk in case of the need to reload,
or is the XP pro (upgrade)disk enough? Can I use the XP
home restart disk to install the operating system on an
older computer now using windows 95?

Hi,

1) If you upgraded with a WinXP Pro "uprgrade" CD you will need to retain
the disk for the system that was upgraded. Should you ever need to clean
install, you will need the qualifying product media.

2) When you use an upgrade, *technically* the original system becomes part
of the license to use the new system and cannot be reused elsewhere. The
reality here though is that your WinXP Home license is only for the system
it came with. It will probably not install on any other hardware (you will
be blocked from installing it by a hardware check).
