Err, yes, it's the same upgrade as from 9x/Me/2000 to Pro.

Yes, the regular XP Pro upgrade version will do this very nicely .. but
before you spend $200 on it, check that you really, really need the
security, domain, encryption, or whatever features .. otherwise you're
just paying for stuff you won't use.

No, more's the pity. Seems folk are too lazy these days to do any form of
research whatsoever.

It's a sad indication of increasing ignorance and ****wittery in the general
population of the planet these days.

It would, of course, be helpful for their enlightenment if ****ed up cloth
eared bints with no savvy would either not bother to give such retards
inaccurate advice, and would stop posting stupid crap like "This is an XP
group. We do not discuss printers or computers here. I repeat we DO NOT
discuss printers or computers here, or anything to do with Microsoft
pertaining to operating systems which are not XP.....blah blah zzzzzzzzzzz"
This kind of ****wittery does not contribute to their learning curve in any
positive way.

No possible way your message will make even a slight dent in the bint's head! Not that it would anyway, being she scratches her head in confusion when her yeast infection medication wears off!

Home to Pro?

There's no special version specifically for this use. However the
regular XP Upgrade version works fine for this (although it
doesn't say so on the box).

Are you sure you need to? The two are actually identical in all
respects, except that Professional has a few features (mostly
related to networking and security) missing from Home. For most
(but not all) home users, these features aren't needed, would
never be used, and buying Professional instead of Home is a waste
of money.

Upgrade to Professional only if you need or want one or more of
these features.

No, I don't need to, I want to... but it's not a $200 desire. I just find
it half-assed to need to reboot in Safe Mode just to change Ownerships and
Permissions. I'm a 100% self-taught geek, but I can't learn without the
hardware AND software, and I figure that going Pro would be a good way to
learn about domain name controllers and security issues, which seem to be
very necessary to turn Geek into a change of profession. Or even to get
one.
