Hi.

I'm facing the similar problem with Andrew.
In my case, I have two XP computers, one for myself and
the other for my daugther, connected to a broadband
router. I have set up the home network on both computers.
However, when I tried to access 'view workgroup
computers' on my XP, I got the error message of "My
workgroup computers not accesible. You might not have
the perssion to access the network resources "

On the other hand, on my daughter's XP, when I did the
same, it showed both my daughter's and my computers, but
my computer was still not accessible.

Both computers were installed with the same XP CD with
same procedure. All user accounts were set up with
administrator right.

Any clue?

I've written a web site that should help you solve the problem:

Windows XP Network Troubleshooting
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/troubleshoot

Please pay particular attention to these sections:

1. Firewalls: Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection
Firewall on local area network connections -- it's for use only on a
direct modem connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all
other firewalls while troubleshooting.

2. Protocols: Use only one for File and Printer Sharing. If the
network needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing
from all but one of them.

3. NetBIOS over TCP/IP: Make sure that it's enabled on all computers.
