OK, what are the different advantages of running XP Home or Pro?
And which would the better to have??

I'm tempted to say do a search of the forum. ;)

Basically networking is the only real difference.

Have to agree with XP Pro simply because you get what you pay for ;)

some other programs

and the xp pro allows you to access another windows user via remote desktop. this is an awesome feature, its also available with windows xp media edition. i use it all the time with the mess of computers i got. also xp pro is designed directly for office use so it has some programs that windows xp home doesnt have. other than that its pretty much the same.

Cheers for the input everyone, now just need to find a laptop with XP-Pro installed on it!:D

I prefer Windows XP Pro, but there again I have a Corporate license for it, it's a lot better in the network side of things.

You would find one at Rock - mine came with XP Pro pre-installed (it's 3.5 years old now) and it's been a very reliable machine. :thumb:

Home and I get on alright. Never needed anything Pro has to offer and we have 6 pcs networked in the house, runs a treat.

Depends what you need it for - Home is about £50 inc VAT which is alright.
