XP Home networking with Win 2000

Does Win XP Home Edition network with Win 2000? If so how
do I connect them?

Been puzzling over this for a week.

All versions of Windows can network with each other.

Connect the computers physically in one of these ways:

1. Connect them directly to each other using a crossover Ethernet
cable.

2. Connect both computers to a hub, switch, or broadband router using
regular Ethernet cables.

The default network settings in XP and 2000 should be compatible. Run
the Network Setup Wizard on XP to fully enable file sharing:

It isn't strictly necessary, but setting the workgroup name on 2000 to
the same name that you specified to the XP Wizard (default is MSHOME)
will make networking a little easier.

Make sure that XP's Internet Connection Firewall is disabled on the
local area network connection:
