I have a mixed network with two Win 98 se computers, and
one computer running Windows 2k pro. All of these
computers are networked to a DSL line. I recently set up a
Windows XP Home system, and when I did it aoutomatically
set up the internet connection. When I set up the new
computer to use the Laser printer on the 2000 machine, I
lost the internet on the XP Home system. after talking
with the DSL company and reestablishing the DSL
connection, I could no longer browse the network or access
the printers or other computers. Is there something I'm
doing wrong? or is this somthing that is known to happen?

Dave,

how do they connect to the Internet? Through a DSL (WAN) router?

Anyway, please have a look at

Wish it were that easy!! Using NetGear 814, the XPPro laptop is able to
access the internet via the DSL modem attached to the 98se. However,
cannot access 98se-attached printers from the XP, nor ANY files in any
direction. It's a boon just to be able to access DSL for internet, but
there seems to be no other advantage to setting up the NetGear network!!
