ive been trying and trying, but i just cant get my home
network up and running.
the hardware seems to be working fine (lights on NICs and
hub are lit)
ran Network Connection Wizard on both PCs (both have XP
Proffesional)
but my ICS has IP address 192.168.0.1, Subnet Mask
225.225.225.0,
while my client has 169.254.60.8, Subnet Mask 225.225.0.0

cant ping each other (local ping works)

i know that Subnet Mask has to be the same, and the IP
range has to be the same too...but even if i manually set
the IP and Subnet Mask for the client PC, they still dont
connect to each other...

someone help me out here...ive been trying for days, and
im at my tehter's end

Are you running a Firewall? I'm running a LAN with XP and Norton Firewall
2003 on each machine. Running the Home Network wizard in the Firewall
sorted out any issues I had.

Subnet is 255.255.255.0 not as you typed.
